Iran comedy 'Katyusha' wins honor at Crossover filmfest

Iranian comedy 'Katyusha' wins honorable mention at the 2018 Crossover Film Festival in Virginia, the US.

Iranian comedy 'Katyusha' has won an honorable mention at the 2018 edition of the Crossover Film Festival in Virginia, the US.

Directed by Ali Atshani in 2017, the comedy juxtaposes a rich spoiled young man with a soldier from the poor districts.

Khalil, the soldier, is a pious man known as Khalil Katyusha. He has to spend some days with Arshia, a corny loaded guy. The gap that exists between their social levels and worldviews creates some problems.

“If I want to be successful in my life, I do not have to look at life like you do," a tagline for the flick reads.

Hadi Hejazifar, Ahmad Mehranfar, Mitra Hajjar, Linda Kiani, Mehran Rajabi, Khashayar Rad, Bijan Banafshe-Khah, Arjang Amir-Fazli, Leila Otadi and Qasem Zare are the most notable among the movie actors.

The movie succeeded to gain 4th spot among bestselling films in the box office chart in the first week of screening in Iran.

'Katyusha' will have its first international screening at the Movie Day of the Crossover Film Festival in Nova Lakeside Theater on November 4, 2018.
